These include Fibre Prints, Vandyke Browns, Hand colouring,
toning, and gum Bichromate prints. Gum printing dates from
the mid nineteenth century and was very popular in the nineteen
twenties with fine art photographers. A delightful but lengthy
process, producing delicate images normally onto artists watercolour
paper, it allows great freedom in the interpretation of a
portrait, each one being unique. |
