Caring for YOUNG EYES
Good eyesight is every child's passport to the
future. If children have poor vision, they'll find it difficult to
learn at school and to enjoy everyday childhood activities.
It's easy to assume your child can see properly, but sight
can change quickly as the eye grows, and young children in particular
may not understand or recognise that anything is wrong. That's why
children should have their eyes examined at least once a year.
Our practice has vision tests and glasses specifically designed for young eyes and welcome children of all ages.
Testing YOUNG EYES
Did you know the first sight test should take place before your child's first birthday,
and be followed by check-ups at around eighteen months and three years?
That way any problems can be discovered well before school starts.
It doesn't matter if your child is too young to talk or read
a letter chart. Our practice has modern equipment which can detect
visual defects at any age. You are also welcome to take part in the eye
test and ask any questions about your child's vision.
Frames for YOUNG EYES
Children should feel comfortable about wearing
spectacles - otherwise they won't use them when they should. That's why
we take great care to explain why glasses are important, and to ensure
that they fit well and look good on young faces.
We have a stylish range of frames designed to appeal to
children. Many have soft nose pads for extra comfort, and sprung hinges
to reduce the chances of breakage.
