Our magnets are made by injection moulding; a proven method of making components in complex shapes, with consistent accuracy, and without material waste. This process, coupled with our expertise in applied magnetics, enables us to create magnets with value-adding features not previously available.
Their versatility enables Design Engineers to precisely place magnetic signals at the interface between mechanical and electronic systems. Product Designers have more freedom to benefit from value-engineering techniques.
The Benefits
- One precision magnetic moulding can replace a sub-assembly.
- Gear teeth, thread forms, spindles, ribs, slots, cams and crossholes can be moulded as part of the magnet at no extra cost.
- Magnets can be moulded around metal or plastic bushes, spindles, or threaded inserts.
- Suitable for ultrasonic welding or staking during assembly.
- Reduced weight.
Other Benefits Include
- Moulding to dimensional tolerances as close as 0.1%.
- Wall sections as thin as 0.4mm can be achieved.
- Part-to-part consistency as close as 0.5% by weight .
- Elimination of machining costs such as grinding, drilling or milling.
- Elimination of assembly/glueing costs.
- High electrical resistance.
- High resistance to demagnetisation.
- Better shock resistance than sintered magnets.
- Less chipping and cracking means reduced risk of magnetic debris affecting end-product performance.
