Partially funded
by the National Lottery through SportScotland, this exiciting
development involves the major refurbishment of the club’s
existing facilities, including demolition of almost two
thirds of the original building and addition of a two
storey extension, completely remodelling the exterior
of the building to reflect an alpine style. This is best
expressed in the extensive use of cedar cladding and
large Glulam Timber feature columns supporting a new
elevated balcony terrace and the sheltering oversailing
roof overhead.
The proposals include a function suite, training room, gymnasium and large workshop
to cater for the needs of the club’s large (1,200 app.) membership and
expand the use of this important community asset to Bearsden.
