Developed in
partnership with British Waterways, this proposed redevelopment
of an ironworks site on the wharf-side of the Forth +
Clyde Canal comprises 142no.one and two bedroom luxury
apartments including new roads and services infrastructure,
a new public walkway and pontoon accessing the canal.
Extensive consultations with the Local Authority and
other statutory bodies have distilled a high density
proposal to ensure all reconnections of the canal to
the urban framework and all apartments take full advantage
of the views over the canal and basin and across the
city. The apartments are designed to take advantage of
these south facing aspects, with balconies, terraces
and gardens focused in that direction.
The design and scale of the blocks reflect the dense tenemental pattern adjacent
to the West of the site, whilst the open spaces and streetspace are more akin
to the new low density developments to the North and East. External finishes
reflect a maritime style including balcony rails, timber cladding, bright and
pastel colours. |
