Rejuvenating
a derelict corner site, this 9 storey development comprises
34no. one and two bedroom luxury apartments including
balconies, terraces, undercroft parking, streetscape
and landscaping proposals.
Responding to the confusing influence of 2, 4, 5, 8 and 22 storey buildings in
the immediate vicinity of the site, the design focuses on marking the junction
at the Northern end of a long vista from the City Centre (at the other end of
which can be found “The Metro”). The elevated plinth effect of the
modelled undercroft parking and the soaring “tower” addressing the
corner are the principals devised to achieve this, creating a quiet, sheltered
interior within the block. High quality materials are specified including powder
coated aluminium cladding, facing brickwork and aluminium faced timber windows. |
