A number of our personnel have experience in Base Management and Operations Management.  This experience has been gained in various locations, both with Operators and with Service Companies.  On the equipment side, MGA have in-house experience of design, installation, commissioning and operation of rig site equipment, including cuttings collection, and cuttings processing systems.

MGA are therefore well placed to offer comprehensive Mud Management services.  These services split into three categories :-

Operations Management

This service is offered primarily to Operators and Drilling Contractors who do not have an in-house mud capability.  MGA can provide specialist personnel to cover functions such as well mud planning, tendering and procurement, liaison with suppliers, operations management and supervision.

Personnel can be supplied on a full-time basis to complement the client's Operations Management team.  A cost effective alternative is for the client to use MGA's facilities on a part-time basis, with MGA effectively acting as the client's "Mud Department". Daily contact is maintained, with work typically being carried out at an agreed hourly rate. Data transfer is by fax, disc or e-mail as appropriate.

Base Management

This service is primarily directed at Mud Companies and Supply Companies.  The functions covered range from market assessments and concept designs for base facilities to day to day management of warehousing, logistics and operations.  Work performed has varied from advisory briefs on UK base facilities to the setting up of a complete Mud Company operation in the Far East.

Integrated Services

The current trend towards Integrated Services, whereby one supplier provides a wide range of unconnected services, offers no advantages to the client in terms of reduced manning levels. MGA have approached Integrated Services from a different angle.  Our supervisory and rig site personnel have the capability to handle a variety of mud-related functions ranging from mud engineering and solids control to cuttings collection and processing.  To supplement this, MGA have committed to training rig crews to cover functions which previously required specialist personnel. Thus a single MGA rig site specialist, with assistance from the rig crew, is able to cover a number of functions. Real economies can be realised from multitasking in this way.
