Previously director of Clayton Environmental Consultants Ltd, Head of the Building Research Establishment's Contaminated Land Section and Secretary of the Interdepartmental Committee on the Redevelopment of Contaminated Land.
Participation in international studies on contaminated land and membership of British Standards Institution and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) committees; and membership of steering groups for a number of research projects. Author of numerous papers and reports on contaminated land, the utilisation of industrial by-products, and materials science
Previously, "industrial partner" and member of steering group for Building Research Establishment studies on behaviour of materials under aggressive conditions and other aspects of contaminated land.
