Based in the delightful rural setting of the New Forest, Michael Leach Design (MLD) was established in 1998 by Mick Leach and business partner Mark Smith.

    With both Mick and Mark graduating from Coventry Polytechnic obtaining degrees in Industrial Design (transportation) they have a combined experience in the Superyacht industry of nearly 50 years. Having worked in various top design offices in the early part of their career they have now established one of the leading and most successful design offices in the business.

    Specialising in exterior and Interior design of Superyachts, MLD offer the entire design process, interior and exterior design, general arrangement planning, loose furniture design and 3D CAD visualisations. MLD is frequently requested by existing clients to design their residential properties and aircraft and have completed several to date.

    MLD has won awards for every yacht project in which they have designed both the exterior and interior, culminating in an unprecedented seven design awards for their latest launch M.Y. Palladium. There is a wealth of experience and desire to create the owners dream yacht. “We are a tool for the yacht owner, we’re there to realise his dream yacht.” comments Mick Leach. “It’s not just a yacht. It’s a way of thinking. We want the owner to enjoy building his yacht and be so delighted with it that he wants to repeat the process again with us.” Of which has happened on numerous occasions.
