Welcome to the Nanofiend website: reviews and comment on social media web apps. This is a personal fan site to mediate through the ever growing field of web apps for the regular user. Rather than frantically list everything out there I aim to cut through the mass of software web apps and highlight the best for the everyday user. Apps are chosen on their accessibility, day to day usability, and price (usually free). Reviews are kept concise, focusing on features and benefits, and relevance for the day to day user.
Developing Nanofiend
Nanofiend is a Social Media fansite with reviews of selected web apps. Reviews and updates are added weekly to reflect the arrival of new web apps but more importantly the updating of apps on the site.
History of Nanofiend
Nanofiend has been running since 2003 and is now in Version 4 with a new look look and feel. Nanofiend website was originally a fan review site of PocketPC/Windows Mobile software (tested on the landmark Compaq Ipaq 3630, O2 XDAII, and the O2 XDAIIs (with a thumb keyboard), O2 XDA Exec and O2 XDA Orbit.)
As phone-enabled PDAs acquired 3G they have gradually reflected the social media abilities of (newly broadband-enabled) laptops - always-on, mobile and browser-focused.
