Goodreads is an online book collection site. You can add and organise your bookshelf and sort books by information. Typically this is a social networking site to meet likeminded people and join specialist groups. The site is straightforward to use with a pop up to rate and review books. The design has a pleasant literary feel with minimal use of images alongside careful use of text. There is a useful search feature on every page. Plenty information is given on your book choices. Social Networking takes place through a newsfeed with updates from friends. Books can be divided up by Read, To-read and Reading. You can view and compare similar book lists, and recommend books. You can download your library files and restrict viewing of your collection to friends. July 2009.

There is plenty of information given but the list form of books is utilitarian in view. Useful to link up with other people.
