Latest Club News Welcome To The 2009 Season We're starting at 10am on 1st March with a work party to clean the changing rooms, sort out the boat park, fettle the safety boat, etc., so please come and lend a hand. Racing will begin a week later - see the 2009 Race Programme And Duty Roster for dates of your duties. If a date is inconvenient, firstly swap with someone else, then let Kevin Law know please. Duties are obligatory for all Full and Associate Members, because they are essential to providing safety cover. Racing will commence on 8th March with Part 1 of the Frostbite Series. On 4th and 5th April there is an Enterprise Class Training Day, followed by an Enterprise Open Meeting. On Sat 18th April we'll host a Derbyshire Youth Sailing event, so either take part, if you're a youth, or make offers of help to Jane Thorpe please. Social Sailing is being introduced on Bank Holiday Monday's after Easter for those of you who would rather potter than race start time will be around 11.30 with Safety Boat cover provided, anyone wishing to do this let me Kevin Law know one week in advance in order that suitable cover can be arranged. Sailing for Softies will be available Friday afternoons in May, June and July commencing at 1.30 pm, anyone interested contact Jane Thorpe. We are having a camping weekend on 4th and 5th July; details from Ivan Washington, venue TBA, any suggestions see Ivan. The Southport 24hr Race falls on the 19th -20th Sept., so let Alison and/or Sue know if you want to take part. Two boats have been entered. Please keep Dave Morton informed of any changes of email, phone, address, etc., and let Alison or Richard know if you have an unmet need for training. We'll award trophies for the best Improver, and a Junior series is to be incorporated into the results, all races marked (J) will have separate results for Juniors. Racing will end on 9th November. The AGM and work party will start at 10am on the 16th November. The First Musical Evening Of 2009 Come and join in at the siling club Spring musical evening on 21st March 2009 from 7pm onwards. All are welcome and entry is free.  Please all bring a plate of goodies (sweat or savoury) for the 'Everyone to Share Buffett'. Don't forget your alcholic beverages etc. We will be fund raising for floor covering for the Ladies changing rooms so root out any loose change for the games and the Raffle. Prizes are needed for the raffle, so if you have any unwanted Christmas presents ets. nows the chance to donate them to a worthy cause! If you wish to take part by playing an instrument, singing, telling a joke or poems, please contact Sue or Rob so we can fit you in.
The First Enterprise Open Meeting Of 2009 The First Enterprise Open Meeting Of 2009 will be held at Toddbrook Sailing Club on 4th and 5th April 2009. The training will start at 10.30 on the 4th and will be held for the second year by Mike Birch. The training is FREE to all Enterprise Association members but if you are not a member but you can join on the day for £25.00 and you will receive diaries with lots of useful information and events. Sunday will be the first Enterprise NW event and there will be three races with the first starting at 11.00am There will be hot food and drinks throughout the weekend so wrap up warm, it was snowing last year - see below!

I have set a provisional date of Saturday 16th May, first race to start at 11.00 am. The races are usually run on a pursuit basis. Anyone wanting to sail please advise Rob Wormald.
