Latest Club News Southport Junior (Under 18) 12 Hour Race (Saturday 28th June 2008) Toodbrook Sailing Club entered a team in the National Junior 12 Hour Race at Southport Sailing Club this year. The team came 25th overall, and won The Under 14 Trophy (well done Harry and Toby!). Not bad for our first entry in the event as an independent team. You can find several pictures of the event in our Gallery and also some pictures taken on the day by Jo Rutherford of Southport Sailing Club here. Whaley Water Weekend (Saturday 21st June 2008) Toddbrook Sailing Club took a stall at the Whaley Water Weekend in our traditional position next to the tent selling boat trip tickets. This year we took a Topper dinghy down to the event. See the report of the event in the Buxton Advertiser, including a picture of 3 of our youth members with the Topper. Our bric-a-brac stall raised over £100 on Saturday towards funding our youth programme. A big thank you to all the kids and parents who manned the stall in some terrible weather. Derbyshire Youth Sailing At Toddbrook 2008 With a strong Easterly wind, peppered by vicious gusts, and with overcast conditions combined with single figure temperatures throughout Saturday 19th April, the young sailors from Derbyshire Youth Sailing were severely tested by the conditions at Toddbrook Sailing Club, in the second event of the ten event DYS series for 2008. See event reports and photos at Yachts And Yachting and Dinghy Sailing Magazine. See also the DYS photos for the event and see additional pictures of the event on our Gallery Page.
