Thengapalli: Forests and Futures
The video extends the work of the Thengapalli pack above. There is footage of everyday life in and around Keshapur, and the social and environmental impact of the building of a new road bridge are examined. One of the community leaders retells the powerful story of 'Friends of Trees' which forms the core of the Thengapalli pack. The video ends with Diwali fireworks in the village. The booklet includes information and activities which link the video with the pack.

India: Children's Needs; Children's Rights
The pack features six children who live in different areas of India and have very different lives, and looks at standard of living, access to clean water and health services, who can afford a healthy diet, who goes to school and has time to play, Indian festivals which are especially for children. Activities relate to English, maths, science, RE, art, design and technology, as well as geography.

Chembakolli Journeys - Wallchart
This wallchart extends the study of the village and community of Chembakolli, southern India. Pupils can study landscape features in Chembakolli and locate family homes and village facilities. They will also understand how Chembakolli is connected to surrounding towns and villages by following the journeys people make.

Chembakolli Website
ActionAid has launched the website www.chembakolli.com for new resources on Chembakolli and the tribal community in southern India. Download photos, photocopiable resource sheets, lesson plans, music and songs. All the material is new, updating and extending the study of Chembakolli. Schools can subscribe to the website for £17.25 and download whichever materials are required for 12 months.


The India File
Containing five programmes in the Channel 4 Eureka! series, the 75-minute video is based around the life of a young boy and looks at various aspects of India today. Subjects covered are Life in Bombay, Life in the Village, Arts and Crafts, the Struggle for Freedom and Celebrations. The teacher's book and activity book supplement the content of the video and help develop visual awareness and geographical skills.
