A family run Watchmaker, Jeweller & Art Gallery, established as Gordon R McFarlane F.B.H.I. in 1962 and still based in Alloa, within the heart of Central Scotland.
The firm is truly a family run concern, with Gordon R McFarlane and his son Neil R McFarlane both invloved.
We are members of the National Association of Goldsmiths and abide by it's code of conduct. Gordon R McFarlane is a fellow of the British Horological Institute and Neil R McFarlane is a fellow of the Gemmological Association & Gem Testing Lab of Great Britain. The business has been assessed and awarded recognition in the quality tourism retailer scheme organised through the local traders association and council. We happily and fully comply with the system of warranties under the Kimberley Process and can therefore confirm that diamonds we sell are conflict free. Two external links (on our links page) give further information on the subject of 'conflict diamonds'.
An Art Gallery was opened in 2000 using a bright and spacious area of the premises. The artwork in the exhibitions all compliment the offering of watches, clocks, jewellery and gifts already on display within the watchmaker & jewellers shop. The variety of artwork is tremendous, with hand-made cards to original pieces of art, made by mainly local artists, The Art Gallery won an award from Clackmannanshire Arts Forum in November 2004, for Service to the Arts in the area.
