Our Company

We started out business in 2000 hence the turn of the century name but of course we are really looking at 1899 to 1900 for our inspirations with a twist of new materials and styles. Rubber and leather suit corsets so well it would be a shame not to offer items for sale. Our hobble skirts are very popular as are the feather wings and Fans. Burlesque items bring the corset look to 2010. We hope you enjoy our products and dressing up as much as we do.

How to put on a corset and take it off

Putting on the Corset.
It is useful to have someone assisting, but it is possible to put on your corset without help.
Corsets are delivered laced up at the back with two long loops at the waist. Loosen off the lacing to open the back of the gap between the back lace holes. Put the corset around you and fasten the front busk: do the top clasp first and then pull the bottom fastening together and the rest of the clasps should follow. Take a moment to ensure all the busk fastenings are correctly clipped into position and the corset is aligned correctly on the body. Pull the two loops gently, this will start to close the corset at the waist. The top and bottom laces will become loose and will be needed to be pulled towards the waist. Tighten the lacing progressively towards the middle from top and bottom. When an even lacing has taken place you can pull the two loops again and repeat the procedure. Whilst tightening check occasionally all the front busk fastenings are still correctly fastened. Continue until you are happy with the fit, do not tighten excessively on first fitment. There should be a pleasant hugging sensation, but you should still be comfortable. The aim is for a comfortable fit and not to fully close the corset. To finish, tie the ends of the loops in a bow at the back . Do not wrap the laces around the waist as this will not allow the corset to fit correctly and may bend the inner bones of the garment.DO NOT over tighten or you will damage your corset: corsets mould to the body after a short period and the material takes the strain evenly, then , if you wish you can go a little tighter. One last tip: If you are going to wear stockings and shoes with your corset, it is a good idea to put them on first before tightening the laces, as most new wearers are unused to the straight back a corset gives and find it hard to bend down.Taking off the corset.

Taking off the corset is where most damage can occur, not only to the garment but also the wearer! To take off the corset the laces must first be loosened along the entire length of the corset back. The busk cover must not be used as a handle to pull the corset together and thus undo the fastenings . To open hold the bottom edges and push together so the clasps are clear to open. The last one to unfasten will be the top and so hold both halves at the top to release the clasp. Failure to loosen the laces will result in bending of the front clasps and possibly a nipping of the wearer

Corsets really seem to be the fashion item of the year. They can, however, be tricky to put on. For full enjoyment of your corset we have provided the following instructions for you to follow when wearing the garment. Please take note otherwise you could damage your purchase.
