CCT Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions

All references to "CCT" also refer to The Office WorkShop, trading as Colchester Computer Training (CCT).

"Fees" shall mean the consideration payable for any course including VAT.

"Client" shall mean the individual person, company, firm or other organisation responsible for paying the training fees.

"Delegate" shall mean an individual participant in any training course, whether or not sponsored by a company.

2. Payment of Fees

2.1 Where the training booked is to be held at the premises of The Office WorkShop the full course fee is payable in advance no later than five working days before the course date.

2.2 VAT will be charged at 17.5% on all course fees. Please see the Training Fees page for information on current fees.

2.3 CCT reserves the right to charge for reasonable additional expenses, such as travelling costs incurred by a trainer booked to deliver a course at a Client's premises beyond a thirty mile radius of Colchester, but always by prior arrangement with the Client.

3. Postponement

3.1 A confirmed course date may be postponed by the Client without penalty provided that a mutually convenient alternative date can be arranged without financial loss being incurred by CCT; otherwise the course will be deemed to be cancelled in accordance with Clauses 4.2 and 4.3 below.

4. Cancellation

4.1 Should CCT find it necessary to cancel or abandon any course, a full refund of fees will be made. CCT does not accept responsibility for any claims for consequential loss suffered by the client or any delegate following such cancellation or abandonment of the course by CCT, any liability for the cancellation being limited to the course fees only.

4.2 In the event of cancellation of the course by the Client with five or fewer working days' notice, no refund of fees is payable, except where a course is successfully postponed in accordance with Clause 3.1 above, or at the discretion of CCT.

4.3 In the event of cancellation of the course by the Client with six or more working days' notice, the course fees will be refunded after deduction of an administration fee of £25 + VAT for full day or half day workshops, and £8 + VAT for mini-workshops, except where a course is successfully postponed in accordance with Clause 3.1 above.

5. Copyright & Licencing

5.1 Course material from Tutor-led Computer WorkShops is provided strictly under licence, and the permission of CCT will be required for any additional copies of training materials supplied for a training course.

5.2 Where a CD or correspondence course is purchased from CCT, breach of copyright will occur if the client attempts to reproduce the CD or material in any way, whether electronic or otherwise.

5.3 CD purchase is on the strict understanding that each CD is supplied for use on one stand alone computer only, on a single user perpetual licence.

6. Liability for Property, Accidents and Damage

6.1 CCT does not accept responsibility or liability in respect of loss or damage to any of the Client's property used as part of a training course, including computer equipment, all use of which is entirely at the Client's own risk.

6.2 CCT does not accept liability for damage caused as a result of the negligent acts or omissions of its agents or servants save for its statutory liability for death or personal injury.

6.3 CCT nor its authorised agents, whether software trainers or other personnel, does not accept liability for any loss, consequential or otherwise, suffered by any training delegate who uses advice given in good faith to operate any computer equipment or computer software program.

6.4 The Client shall indemnify CCT for the loss of or the negligent or criminal damage to any property belonging to CCT brought to the Client's premises for the purposes of a training course.

7. CD Purchase

7.1 VAT will be charged at 17.5% on CDs purchased from CCT either online or otherwise.

7.2 It is assumed that a client purchasing Windows-based software training is using a Windows PC. It is the responsibility of the client to check the compatibility of the CD with their computer equipment.

7.3 A thirty day money back guarantee will operate if the goods are returned within that period of time with all licensing seals intact in order to verify that the compact disks have not been opened, used, copied or tampered with in any way. (If a prospective purchaser wishes to request the 'Try Before you Buy' service, an email should be sent to Try Before you Buy).

7.4 Delivery in the UK will be by secure courier and will require a signature on delivery, which will be proof against any claims by the client of non-delivery. As far as possible postal tracking details will be made available to the client.

8. Correspondence Course Purchase

8.1 No VAT is charged on distance learning correspondence courses unless otherwise specified.

8.2 A postage & packing fee of £9.99 will apply to each course purchased.

8.3 Delivery in the UK will be by secure courier and will require a signature on delivery, which will be proof against any claims by the client of non-delivery. As far as possible postal tracking details will be made available to the client.

9. Subscriptions

9.1 Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time by ticking the relevant box on the Contact & Pre-Booking Form.

9.2 Subscribers of their email address will be returned to a page on the website where they can view an online voucher. The reference number on the voucher must be entered into the relevant box on the Contact & Pre-Booking Form in order to qualify for the discount on the face of the voucher to be offset against the course fee currently published on the website for any tutor-led workshop, course manual or CD purchase.

9.3 Only one submission of a valid email address will qualify as an ID for the purposes of obtaining a discount voucher. Alias email addresses will not qualify.
