Patrick Allen read Electroacoustics at University
and trained with BBC TV and Radio. He is best known as a classical
recording engineer and producer with Opera Omnia Productions, and in this role has been
fortunate to work with many of the world's finest musicians.
Although he started taking photographs at an
early age, his introduction to professional photography was
a baptism of fire in the late 1990s when a photographer failed
to show up to take publicity photos during a recording session.
Fortunately, Patrick had his camera with him and so stepped
in. He enjoyed the experience and started providing professional
photography services soon after. Since then, his photography
has primarily been related to music and performance, although
he is increasingly commissioned for non-music work both on
location and in his fully equipped studio in Bedfordshire.
He is also an accredited photographer with a number of commercial
image libraries.
