DELIVERY TIMES

Orders are sent Second Class - or standard Airmail for international orders - and we normally try to post orders within 24 hours. So, UK customers should receive everything within 3-4 days, and international customers in about a week. If you need something more urgently, send us an email and we'll see what we can do - or see "Special Packaging and Delivery Methods" below.

CHANGING THE DELIVERY ADDRESS

PayPal assumes items are posted to the card-billing address. If this isn't the case, change the address at the final "Check Your Order" stage - it's not particularly intuitive and it's easy to miss the button, I know, but... it's definitely there! If the delivery and billing addresses aren't actually in the same country, you'll need to use the "Additional Info" box or send us an email, as PayPal's security system doesn't like that. Basically, send us an email if you're at all unsure or mess things up - order instructions and emails end up in the same inbox this end, so it won't cause confusion.

PAYING DIRECTLY FROM A PAYPAL ACCOUNT

If you've got a PayPal account, you can, if you prefer, ignore the buttons and, having done the maths, just send payment direct to smoke@smokelondon.co.uk.

OTHER METHODS OF PAYMENT

If you don't want to use a credit/debit card or PayPal, then you can pay directly by bank transfer. Please email us for details. I'm afraid we're not really accepting cheques any more because of the costs of maintaining a PO Box, but if it's absolutely essential, again please email us and we'll see what we can do.

PAYING ODD AMOUNTS

Use the "donate" button at the top of the Order page if you want to pay us a random amount, e.g. if you want something posted Special Delivery and need to pay the extra, or you're a former subscriber taking advantage of our offer on Soho!, or a Tory chancellor addled with guilt.

GIFTS

If you'd like to buy Smoke or Soho! as a gift, and there are special instructions about delivery or a message to include, then either use PayPal's "additional information" box or send us an e-mail.

SPECIAL PACKAGING AND DELIVERY METHODS

Smoke is posted in sturdy manilla envelopes. This is usually fine, but if you don't trust your postman, have wild dogs running loose in the hall, or intend selling them on the collectors' market in 20 years time so need them in pristine condition (NB bear in mind that, if this latter is the case, we shall refuse to sell them to you), we're more than happy to put them in jiffy bags or card-backed envelopes. Similarly, if you want us to use Special or Recorded Delivery, we can do that - though if you're using Special Delivery because you need it next day, please check first that we're actually around and able to go to the post office! Obviously we'll need to charge extra for all these things, so, keeping it in round amounts, send the following using the "donate" button, and explain why you're sending it in the "info" box.

NOTE TO SMOKE SUBSCRIBERS

When we put Smoke "on hold " after issue#16, we said that anyone with outstanding issues on their sub could set the money off against Soho! and get a 10% discount. This still holds, but having payment buttons for all permutations is really messy, so please use the donate button at the top of the page and enter the amount by hand. If you're not sure what you're owed, email us and we'll tell you the score! The 10% discount also works if you just want to hang on and see what we come up with next.
