PROCEDURES FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF DOMESTIC HELPERS FROM THE PHILIPPINES
Please communicate with the:
-
Overseas Labour Service Moorfoot, Sheffied S1 4PQ for the documents and
other requirements to secure a work permit in the United Kingdom for the
Filipino worker;
-
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) at the POEA
Bldg., Ortigas Avenue, Corner Edsa, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines
1501 for hiring a domestic helper from the Philippines; and
-
British Embassy in Manila at Floors 15-17 L.V. Locsin Bldg., 6752 Ayala
Avenue (cor. Makati Avenue), Makati, Metro Manila; tel. no. 00(632)-819-7206;
fax no. 00(632) 810-2745, for the visa requirement.
Please accomplish the Standard Employment Contract for a Filipino
Household Worker in European Countries which must be authenticated by the
Philippine Embassy. Also, please submit proof of financial
capability as an employer. This authenticated contract must be signed
by your Employee at the POEA to enable her to travel from the Philippines
to the United Kingdom as a contract worker.
PROCEDURES FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF FILIPINO NURSES FROM THE PHILIPPINES
Please communicate with the:

other requirements to secure the work permits in the United Kingdom for
the Filipino workers;

recruiting Filipino workers; and

visa requirements.
You need an agreement with your chosen Philippine recruitment agency
to assist you in processing the required documents with the POEA.
Alternatively, you may speak directly with the POEA to facilitate
the documents for recruitment of the nurses. To qualify for registration
with the POEA, please submit the following documents to the Embassy for
verification and authentication:
a) Company registration;
b) Special Power of Attorney/Recruitment Agreement;
c) Manpower Request of the hospital/nursing home stipulating:
-
the position of “Staff Nurse” during the adaptation period and upon UKCC
registration;
-
the number of nurses to be recruited;
-
salary during the adaptation period and upon UKCC registration;
-
specialization requirements;
-
return airline ticket at the employer’s expense;
-
terms of employment;
-
in case of death, the repatriation of nurses’ remains and personal belongings
at the employer’s expense; and
-
application of UK laws in case of disputes in the implementation of the
employment contract.
d) Employment contract stipulating the following provisions:
-
Position of “Staff Nurse” during the adaptation period/supervised
practice and upon UKCC registration;
-
Basic salary of not lower that GB£11,000 during the adaptation period/supervised
practice and immediately adjusted to the salary stated on work permit upon
UKCC registration;
-
Payment of nurse’s airfare to and from the UK by the employer without recourse
or refund by the nurse;
-
Transportation of nurse’s remains and property to point of origin, in case
of death at the employer’s/agency’s expense;
-
Just cause for termination;
-
Minimum term of contract should be 2 years; and
-
Applicability of UK laws in the implementation of the employment contract,
especially in the resolution of any disputes.
These documents should be legalized in the following procedures:
-
Notarization by a Commissioner of Oath;
-
Legalization by FCO; and
-
Authentication by the Philippine Embassy.

then be referred to your recruitment agency in the Philippines or directly
to the POEA.
