Face
to Face in Surrey and Sussex - Befriending parents of children newly
diagnosed with a disability.
Do you remember the feelings you had
when you first discovered your child had a disibility?
Did you need
to talk to someone who had shared that
experience and could really
understand?
Would you like to "be there" for someone going through
that
experience now?
Face to Face is an one-to-one
parent befriending service developed
to help parents deal with the emotions they feel when they discover
their child has a disability. Many parents feel devastated,
frightened, angry and isolated when their child is diagnosed. Although most have
access to professionals who can help, many feel the need to talk to
someone who will truly understand - someone who has been there before
- another parent.
