Swanborough House & A New Advice Service

Swanborough House is a residential care home providing slow- stream rehabilitation for people with acquired brain injury. Some causes are car accidents, blows to the head and strokes. Our residents’ ages range from 18 to 65 and our philosophy aims to provide a caring atmosphere, in which the individual can develop their potential. We aim to help them lead a more independent life, improving their daily living skills and providing therapies and sessions both in the house and in the local community.

Some in house therapies and sessions include:
Art Therapy
Physiotherapy
Occupational Therapy
Aromatherapy
Craft Group
Music Group
Gardening Group
Cookery Group
Sessions based in the community include the following:
Pottery Workshop
Woodwork Workshop
Computer Courses
Hydrotherapy
Training courses from City College and work experience

We are pleased to have developed strong links with the Whitehawk Inn, The Wellsbourne Centre, The Bridge, William Moon and the Valley Social Centre. We value our links with the local community and are keen to develop further good relationships. We always welcome visitors including potential volunteers and local social organisations. For further information or to make an appointment please call on 01273 696 391 or email on rmcswanborough@lineone.net

A New Advice Service
The Brighton and Hove Federation for Disabled People is coming to your area soon. It will feature independent and confidential advice, benefit checks, advice on D.L.A., also Attendance Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Income Support, Pension and Tax problems. They will help with all these and more. The most important thing to some of you is FORM FILLING. The advisor will be at the Bates Estate Neighbourhood Office in Selsfield Road; drop in or make an appointment on 01273 203 016.

A Big Thank You…
Thank you to all who helped by buying tickets for the Good-Timers club here in Whitehawk. The raffle went well and we raised £187.00. All prizes were donated by local shops and residents and a big thank you to all as we would not have been able to go ahead without you. A prosperous New Year to you all.
