Memory Check Ups & the NHS Website

Memory Memory Memory
Is yours still working the way it should be? I know at my age mine's not working to full capacity! Are you over 65? Are you worried about your memory? Or are you worried about a family member's memory? Why don't you have a memory check?

If you are concerned about your memory and aged over 65 and are living in Brighton or Hove the Memory Screening Service can offer you a memory check-up. You can also contact them on behalf of a relative or friend with memory problems, with their permission of course! The Memory Screening Service is run as part of the Community Mental Health Team in your area. The team has lots of people in it who are specialists: doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers and community support workers.

How can you contact the service? Phone 078 8050 1051 to discuss your memory problem, Monday to Friday between 9am - 5pm. If not you can always talk to your G.P.

Information Authority www.nhs.uk
D
id you know that the local authority has a website that you can look at any time you want? It holds information about what the NHS has to offer and how you can get access to these services. This can help you make well-informed decisions.

The website provides FREE basic information such as: addresses, maps and contacts for NHS organisations, presented in a layout that is clear and easy to understand. This means that everyone no matter where they live can access the same information about NHS services in England. Why not try typing their web address into your computer to check out for yourself or to find out things you want to know, it's www.nhs.uk So why not use it?
