I
spent six hours with Steve, a Neighbourhood Warden, learning
about the roles of the wardens. It was very interesting and I enjoyed
the experience of working alongside Steve. We patrolled the estate
looking for dumped rubbish, abandoned vehicles and had a friendly chat
with people.
We
also looked into the possibility of the Youth Inclusion Project
team being able to use the pavilion in Wild Park as a base for
a Motorcycle Project. I wasn't aware of the amount of walking the wardens
do! They also help out at many of the local community groups and visit
people in their homes. I'm glad to have been offered the opportunity
of taking part in the Junior Wardens pilot scheme and to be rewarded
with a certificate from the team.
