World Vision 24 Hour Famine Weekend

Crew Club Young People Supporting Children in Malawi. Over 20 young people went on a famine for 24 hours to help raise money and experience what children in Malawi have to live with every day.

"I think I will be able to go 24 hours but it will be very hard work." Vicky (15).

"It's out of order that people don't help more and they should have proper medical equipment." Alex (16).

"They deserve as much of a chance as us." Micheal (17).

"It's not right that we can eat as much as we do and they are starving." Marc (13).

"I am doing it because I want to know what they have to go through." Liam (13)

"I think it is very commendable that the young people of Whitehawk are participating in this event to help raise awareness." Helen, PEP Community Development Worker (age unrevealed).

£17 is enough for one month's worth of food for an orphan in Southern Africa. £30 is enough for a two day nutrition course for 60 women or a donkey drawn plough for an African farmer. £62 is enough for 7kg of vegetable seeds. £125 is enough for two oxen for a farmer to prepare fields for planting.
