Have you ever thought about becoming involved with local theatre? We are on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help out backstage, act, sell programmes, sweets or coffee, work behind the bar, make costumes, or design scenery, lighting or sound. It is a great way to learn new skills and make new friends.

CRB

The owners of the Halifax Playhouse (Halifax Thespians Ltd.) have in place a child protection policy to protect adults, children and persons with special needs involved in any capacity within the theatre. The policy document is currently under revision.

facebook Halifax Thespians are now on FACEBOOK. It is an open group and anyone is free to join... although you need to be a member of Facebook, which is also free.

Playhouse Bar

Relax in the cosy and welcoming surroundings of the Playhouse Bar. It is open from 7pm (6.45pm on Saturdays) to 11pm when there is a show on.

You can order your interval drinks before the show to avoid queuing later.

Bar Photo

In addition to the bar open during productions, there are regular themed Friday evenings for members, friends and potential members.

Coffee Lounge
The Playhouse coffee lounge opens in the interval of most shows, serving fairtrade coffee or tea. At other times coffee is available from the bar.

You will also find a selection of art work from the Halifax Art Society, these are available for purchase. The details can be found in the coffee lounge.
