the vets

Philip J. Glyn B.Vet.Med., M.Sc., M.R.C.V.S.

Practice principal. After qualifying from RVC London in 1971, he read Conservation at UCL for his MSc. He studied White Rhino capture and relocation in South Africa, researched grazing in ponies in South Wales, and worked initially on the Welsh Borders in a horse and cattle practice. He then returned to Sussex in 1976 and set up the current practice in 1978. His original practice was in a drafty single roomed office in Hartfield until it moved to the current premises in 1984. Since then the practice has grown from one to five vets and the facilities have changed beyond recognition so that he now spends more time at Priors Farm especially with lameness investigations. In spite of that, the original ambulatory service has remained an important part of his workload.
Alison M. Weston M.A., Vet.M.B., M.R.C.V.S

Alison graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1999. Her first job was in a mixed practice in Kent before moving to Priors Farm. She has ridden and owned horses for many years and this inspired her ambition to be an equine vet at the age of nine. She currently has a young horse that she is hoping to bring on to take eventing - time permitting! She joined the team at Priors Farm in November 1999.
Duncan D. Harrison B.V.Sc., Cert. E.M. (Int.Med), M.R.C.V.S.

After qualifying from Bristol in 2000 he moved to Aberdeenshire joining a mixed practice but concentrating mainly on the equine side. In 2001 he joined a large specialised equine practice in Essex. This very busy practice enabled experience to be gained in all areas of equine veterinary medicine. He gained the certificate in Equine Internal Medicine in 2005. His interests lie firmly in the countryside where he enjoys flyfishing and shooting. He also likes to occasionally hack out when the weather is good! He joined Priors Farm in 2004.
Ben J.N. Chilvers B.V.M.S., Cert E.M. (Int.Med), M.R.C.V.S.

Qualified from Glasgow in 1997 and started working life at the Herriot practice in North Yorkshire working with a wide variety of animals. In 2000 he took up a two year clinical scholarship in the equine department at Glasgow University Vet School. After gaining the RCVS certificate in equine internal medicine in 2002 he went on to locum at a variety of specialised horse and mixed practices in the UK as well as spending time working in the States. He joined Priors Farm in 2004.
