The Fund assists current and former members of repertory ballet and contemporary dance companies in the United Kingdom, who have suffered hardship as a result of injury or other unforeseen circumstances.

The main objective of the Fund is the relief of hardship, the causes of which vary widely: from those who may have little beyond the state retirement pension on which to live, or those living alone who welcome a friendly visit, to dancers whose injury has resulted in continuing disability needing help with the cost of special medical equipment, and where possible, rehabilitation. In less severe circumstances, prompt medical attention can enable an injured dancer to return to performance more quickly.
