It delights us to welcome you to Reading Resource, the Berkshire based mental health charity. Resource has undergone a transformation of late, and now trades under the national charity Together. Our contact details haven't changed, and you can find them at the top of this page.

Resource is an innovative non-medical service, which is one of the many projects run by Together. It offers people who are experiencing mental health difficulties or emotional distress the chance to make positive changes in their social and working lives.

The Reading Resource Centre (“Resource”) was initiated after a piece of research, which looked at the needs of people with mental health problems in Berkshire.

People with mental health problems face many challenges in life. There is social prejudice and stigmatisation both within the community and the workplace. Lives are often devastated by a diagnosis of mental illness. These factors can make it very hard to live with mental illness. Our aim is to make life that much easier for our members.

Reading Resource provides an innovative service across Berkshire with opportunities for members with mental health difficulties to learn new skills eventually leading to employment.

With an outside job our members are helped to stand on their own two feet. We have found that enhancing job opportunities for our members has enhanced personal self-esteem considerably and speeds up recovery.
