 Driver Profile: Russell Munns

Russell has always had a keen interest in Cars and Motorsport, and in 1999 decided to go Racing himself. When an initial deal to drive a Ginetta G27 fell through he built a Triumph Spitfire for to race with the TR Register and TSSC. Russell's first race was at Silverstone on August the 5th 2000 (picture shows the car as it was ready for the first race!. He then went on to win the Class A Championship and the Newcomers Championship in 2001. For 2002 he continued to race the Spitfire and successfully defended the championship, while being unbeaten all season and notching up 6 lap records! His lowest point so far had been the accelerator cable failure at Mallory Park in 2002. The image was taken at Brands Hatch at the end of the 2002 season on the way to a class win and new Lap Record

After racing the Spitfire for a couple of years Russell has decided to race in a different championship with a different car. In 2003 he raced a Mallock MK28/30 built in 1990 by David Childs in the MGXpower Clubmans Cup.
