Residential Maintenance
Rockingham Swimming Pools are proud to offer all residential customers’ service visits
to assist with the regular maintenance of their swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam rooms.
Continuous maintenance of a pool and its facilities is essential to ensure that the water
chemistry, plant equipment, pool structure and surround is kept in excellent condition for
years to come. We can offer as much or as little help as is required and can instruct you
on suitable maintenance plans to ensure you understand exactly what is required to keep your
swimming pool clean and sparkling.
Swimming Pool Services
A Rockingham pools’ service is conducted by a Pools Engineer and takes between
30-45 minutes to complete. During this time your pool water will be examined using
our professional testing apparatus and rebalanced if any results are found to be out
of the ideal range. Plant room equipment is assessed for irregularities, filtration
systems are backwashed and any dosing units are topped up if required. If any problems
are found we aim to fix them on site, otherwise we will notify you of the issue and quote
accordingly. We can also complete an extensive vacuum of the pool to remove all unwanted
debris so the pool looks its best for swimming.

It is vital to winterise your outdoor swimming pool over the winter months to prevent
any frost damage or other problems that may occur. We often find that many owners think
closing a pool for the winter is just about switching off the filter pump and waiting for spring.
However, there is much more involved to correctly close the pool and protect the equipment.
You would need to reduce the water level, remove any existing dirt, vacuum, check the water
chemistry, correct the water balance (including maintaining pH and calcium levels which are
essential to protect the pool structure), drain the pipework and plant equipment to avoid frost
damage
|
(which could lead to burst pipework), dose winterising chemicals, add ice protectors and
cover the pool with a suitable cover (winter debris cover or automatic cover).
We invariably receive a large number of callouts every Spring to put right problems
caused from incorrect shutdowns and comparing shutdown expenses to costs on repairs,
it is easy to see that prevention is better than cure! If you are unsure of the
correct shutdown procedure for your pool, please contact the office for a free guide,
or if preferred our engineers can carry out the process for you.

Opening up your pool properly and correcting the water chemistry at the start of each
season or after heavy dilution is one of the key factors to providing comfortable
bathing conditions for you and your family for the summer. By ensuring the pH,
disinfectant, total alkalinity, TDS and calcium hardness levels are on target
helps the pool water balance remain stable and therefore allow you to spend
less time on maintenance and achieve more economical running costs for the season ahead.
