David Tonkinson has been BANHIM's Industrial Mission Co-ordinating Chaplain since April 2002. He is a Church of England Minister with the Diocese of Winchester.

He is building up contacts with companies, organisations and churches in Basingstoke and North Hampshire. Currently his work of relating Gospel with Work and Economic Life is in the Local Government, Food, Pharmaceutical, Transport and Training and Education; manufacturing, distribution and service sectors.

He is a Hampshire Ambassador and is keen to see that the whole area and the people who life in it enjoy prosperity and good health founded on Christian values.

He is also keen to encourage individuals and bodies to relate faith with working life and raise the profile of "business and industry" in the worshipping and praying life of the church and other faith communities.

Ordained in 1972 he has held a number of Parochial and Sector posts, most recently being the Industrial chaplain in Bracknell (1989-1996) and Social Responsibility Adviser for the Diocese of Portsmouth (1996-2002).
