Blakes Vigo Nursery was started in 1954 by Frederick, known affectionatly as Charlie, when he was demobbed from the Army. Together he and his wife Dorothy literally built up a blooming nursery in the centre of town.

Charlie was well known to hundreds of Andovarians for his flower stall on the Saturday High Street market for many years. Today the family owned business is run by son Colin, wife Janice and their son Christopher, with an active interest still maintained by Dorothy
