Yoga means union with the Supreme, the
search for merging into God. In order to reach this
ultimate goal of our life, endeavour is necessary.
The spiritual exercises (sadhanas) –
meditation, breathing exercise, self-purification,
havan, bhajan, selfless service are already
mentioned.
In the Bhagavad Gita three paths of yoga are described
by Krishna: karmayoga (yoga of action),
bhaktiyoga (devotion) and jnanayoga
(wisdom). These are not at all exclusive ways, but
they are always combined, they are just named by the
aspect that is prevailing. And for all these ways
truth is an essential aspect. All these three paths
lead you to liberation.
The physical exercises, Hatha Yoga, is meant to keep
the physical body fit so that you are able to follow
the spiritual path and, for example, sit for
meditation and be able to concentrate on the third
Eye. And it also cures some diseases. Guruji teaches
relatively simple, but important asanas
selected for this purpose.
