Reindeer

Santa may have gone back to lapland, but a couple of his reindeer are settling in nicely right here in Sheffield.

Seven-month-old Heidi and Eric aren't quite old enough to pull the old man's sleigh just yet so you can find them down in Ecclesfield. Andrea and Clive Smith, who run the Jumble Lane Cattery, bought the pair at Ashford, Kent and brought them home. And they report that Heidi and Eric are as happy as kids at Christmas. They're having stacks of fun growing up with a load of cats, a white Alsatian dog and a goat. Andrea said; "Elsa the dog loves to play with them, At first she was quite wary of their antlers, but they are only used as a warning if she gets a little too excited, and they recently lost their antlers ready for next years growth." The raindeers spent christmas on a local farm in a pen with Bobby the goat who also lives at the cattery, next door to some pigs! And not only do they make excellent pets - they're very usefull too. "They'll certainly help keep the grass down in the summer." Said Anndrea.
