A long history...
I have been providing professional electronics support to research scientists in
The U.K. and worldwide for over 30 years. I am an analogue electronics design
engineer by training and preference, and over many years of working with
research scientists at the Marine Biological Association (MBA), Plymouth Marine Laboratory(PML), and Plymouth University, and others internationally, I have contributed many original solutions to difficult measurement problems, covering a wide range of topics from electro-physiology, and electro-chemistry of marine waters, to field observation of living organisms.
I have been a contributor to a wide variety of research papers published in peer
reviewed publications, including the prestigious Nature. As the owner of
Ruthern Instruments I take great pride in helping to bridge the gap between
science and technology, and I was awarded fellowship of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 1995 based on my contributions to marine science. I am also a member of the U.S. Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and a member of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC).
