Welcome to Riverside Youth Theatre

Riverside Youth Theatre (RYT) was

started in 1982 to provide

opportunities for young people aged

between 12 and 18 who have an interest in drama.                     

 

The group is affiliated to the Riverside Arts Centre and is run by a small committee of volunteers - some of

whom are parents of past and present members - and others who have been

involved in the professional theatre.

We aim to encourage an interest and develop skills and experience in all aspects of theatre. Members are

guided through the auditioning, rehearsal and staging of real productions which are presented to live

audiences. Productions can range from costume drama to musicals, but are always challenging and demanding.

Members can also take part in supporting activities within the technical team, learning about lighting, sound

and stage set design and building.

whatever their skills may be!
