It has never been as easy to travel to Lewis by either air or sea. 

Daily flights  to Stornoway are operated by British Airways from Inverness, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.  Also by Highland Airways from Inverness, and Eastern Airways from  Aberdeen. Flight times to Stornoway are about 1 hour from Edinburgh/Glasgow and 40 minutes from Inverness /Aberdeen . 

Caledonian MacBrayne operate daily sailings (Mon -Sat) from Ullapool  to Stornoway (2.5 hours), and from Uig  on Skye to Tarbert on Harris (1.5 hours). Eastern Airways - http://www.easternairways.com/

Directions from Stornoway to Scaliscro (35mins)
Take A859 southwards from Stornoway to Tarbert (Tairbeart). After 7 miles turn right and take A858 to Uig and Carloway. After c7 miles turn left at Garynahine (Gearraidh-a-Aibhne) and drive along B8011 to Uig and Bernera.

After c5 miles you should see a sign for Bernera, continue straight past this sign along the B8011 and after c5miles look for the Scaliscro sign post and turn right down a 2 mile private road to Scaliscro Lodge.
