Born in St. Petersburg (Russia), 1980.
Son of two theatre directors, Tatyana Jakovskaya and Lev Shwartz, Sergey grew up in the wings of their small studio theatre “Four Little Windows,” taking part in performances as a child.
Sergey became a part of Sharmanka team in 1992 and was working then primitive lighting controls at the age of 12. He left Russia with Sharmanka in 1993. As time went on, Sergey gradually was taking on more and more responsibilities, and since 1998 has been fully in charge of lighting design and technical management of Sharmanka.
Sergey has graduated as a Bachelor of Arts (Technical and Production Arts) from Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Summer 2002, and now making his way up in the career of theatrical lighting and technical craft.
