New Courses - Starting July

Monday the 5th of July heralds the start of our summer term. Beginner and intermediate courses are available. For those going away the autumn term starts in September. Additional details can be found on the learning page.

Record Breakers

Between the 31st October and 3rd of November 2003 a team of 8 players from St Johns Wood set a new world record for "The longest continuous card game" by playing 1012 hands over the course of 72 hours.   Full Story.

The Annual St Johns Wood Auction Pairs

The biggest duplicate in the club calendar took place on Tuesday the 9th of December. This exciting 24 board event attracted big names from the UK and overseas. After a superb buffet every competing pair was auctioned off to the highest bidder with all the money going into the prize pool. The "Owner" of the winning pair Jack Mizel and Artur Malinowski (63.5%) scooped a handy £5,600. Luckily the winners had the sense to buy themselves! In addition to the auction pot (split between the first four pairs) prizes were awarded for  5th to 8th place.
