Report for 29/03/05 –05/04/05

 

Spring weather has arrived over the ponds and with the slightly higher temperatures the fish are showing well, crashing and splashing on the surface and anglers using baits like bread/mixers on the top are reaping the best rewards at the  moment.

Willow pool gave graham Evans of Exeter 40 carp over 2 sessions up to 13lb for total weight of 256lb using floating bread.  Gordon Richards of Exeter had 10 carp to 17lb on legered luncheon meat.  Joshua Critchell aged 12 of Kingsteignton had 3 carp to 13lb 8oz, the biggest on legered luncheon meat and the other 2 on dog biscuit.

Kingfisher pool gave James Phillips of Alphington 42 carp up to 17 1/4lb over 2 sessions mostly on floating mixers. Tony Short of Okehampton had 25 carp over 2 sessions to 21 1/4lb, mostly on floating mixers.  Christopher Grylls of Newton Abbot had 2 carp to 16lb and 16lb 12oz. on meat and sweetcorn.
