Report for
Cold weather continues but anglers are still few and fish caught are also few. Some anglers are managing to catch carp but need to go easy on the baiting up and adopt a light approach.
On willow pool Steve Hird managed to catch 10 carp up to 6 1/4lb on usual
legered sweetcorn over corn and pellet. Brian Chapman of Chudleigh had 15 carp
on the same pool up to 8lb. on pole fished maggot.
Kingfisher pool gave Jason Harvey 2 carp of 8lb and 4lb.on legered sweetcorn.
Michael Hird of Newton Abbot had 4 carp to 5 1/2lb. on legered sweetcorn.
With some warmer days ahead and the water becoming less cold we can hopefully expect some better catches of carp. However for those anglers interested in the silver fish, i.e. roach, they will respond well at present to light float approach under the pole or waggler. Use maggot and keep trickling freebies over the top. Bags of 10lb plus can be expected with also some nice perch appearing.
