Report for
10/05/05 – 17/05/05
It has been another cool week with chilly winds cold nights although
the sun is warm when it appears mostly dry but we had a band of rain move
through on Saturday. Water temperatures
are subdued at present but as soon as summer temperatures arrive the carp will
probably start spawning.
Once again surface fished baits seem most productive, such as bread or chum
mixers, particularly into the evenings when the carp are most active and larger
specimens are looking for their supper.
Willow pool gave Stephen Hird
from Newton Abbott 18 carp to 8lb on legered sweetcorn over corn and pellet,
total weight 112lb. Nick Webber of
Torquay had 6 carp to 6lb. 3oz.on floatfished corn.
Kingfisher pool gave Graham Evans of Exeter
13 carp to 11 1/2lb on surface fished bread. Trevor Brooks had 3 carp to 10lb
on bread off the surface.
Heron pool gave Michael Hard of Exeter
7 carp to 10lb on legering and surface fishing. Jason Smith had 8 carp to 9lb
on floatfished bread.
