Stagecoach Youth Theatre York is an independent youth theatre in the heart of York founded in 1993. We have over 140 members within our company from the ages of 7 to 27 all ranging in ability and background. We have so far performed over 150 productions including Shakespeare, Broadway, West-End musicals, Classic Drama, Comedy, Contemporary Drama and much more!

The productions Stagecoach Youth Theatre produces are only a bi-product of what we strive to achieve. We believe that through the medium of drama, social and even life-long skills are learnt by the young people. Our objectives are to promote, maintain, improve and to advance education, particularly through the production of educational plays and the encouragement of the Arts by and for young people.

SYTY is financially supported by City of York Leisure & Education Department - SYTY's Patron: Dame Judi Dench.

This site is dedicated to John McDonald, who was a devoted and actively involved parent of Stagecoach as well as a respected police constable before passing away suddenly. His hard work and commitment to the company over the past 9 years will never be forgotten, nor will he.
