Choir
Music at St James is now directed by John Clenaghan who joined us on 1 April 2011. The choir provides a wonderful choral education, particularly for the younger members of the choir, several of whom have gained the RSCM Bishop’s and Dean's awards. The choir currently has 19 members (10 children). We explore an ambitious range of music and, in addition to leading worship each week and at festival services, we perform occasional concerts including a range of lighter musical items.
The choir meets for rehearsal on Monday evenings: the younger members attend from 6:15 pm and are joined by the adults at 6:45. We sing regularly at the 10:00 am service each Sunday and have a short practice before each service, starting at 9:30 am.
New members are always welcome. Do come and join us if you enjoy singing!
Music Group
The Music Group, which enriches the All-Age Eucharists, was led for many years by Mrs Wendy Limbert, and is now led by John Clenaghan. Everyone is welcome to come and help us make music, whether they can play a single chime bar, open violin strings or is musically proficient.
