  1. This Remberance Sunday – we pray for the …..  All those who have lost their lives, in both World Wars and in recent conflicts – asking peace for the future.  The Morning Mass is at 9:45 a.m. for the above intention.
  2. Monday (i) Mass in Carntyne Rest Home at 8:00 a.m.; ii) Senior Choir meets at 7:30 p.m.
  3. Tuesday – i) 8:30 a.m. local clergy from the other churches in Hexham meet at St. Mary’s for Morning Prayer, followed by a discussion meeting.  Full details on Church notice board of future Ecumenical events, extending into 2010; ii) 8:10 p.m. Journey into Faith Programme continues; iii) Meeting of the Social Committee after 7:30 Mass in St. Mary’s Centre.
  4. Wednesday – meeting of Priests from the Deanery 5:30 p.m. at Oswalds, Bellingham, followed by ceremony and Mass with the induction of the new Parish Priest, Fr. Michael McKenna.
  5. Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November  the Justice & Peace Group will be holding Fairtrade  Stalls after Vigil & 10:00a.m. Masses.
  6. Saturday, November 28th in Hexham: A day of action on Climate Change prior to the Copenhagen summit. Sign Christian Aid and CAFOD cards in the morning in the Market Place.  Join in family activities in the Abbey 3-5pm followed by a shared tea. In the early evening at 6pm, Dr David Golding, a scientist from Newcastle University, will give a talk at Trinity on ' The Road to Copenhagen - rising to the challenge of climate change'. There is an opportunity to ask questions. Watch for more publicity.
  7. The call to Ministry, reasonable request of new volunteers, who will need to be C.R.B. checked before taking up their new role – you will be kept informed.  We could do with more volunteers to type out the weekly bulletin.  We also need more volunteers to count the Sunday offerings and prepare income for banking; this usually takes place on Sunday evenings 6:45 p.m. onwards.
  8. Update on the Sign of Peace within Mass.  No hand shake; no receiving from the Chalice, plus new addition, no Holy Water in the usual stoops.  Full details on Church Notice Board.
  9. Many thanks to the Womens’ Guild for their generosity – Parish funds £200.00; Priest Training Fund £100.00; Masses for Vocations £60.00.
  10. Please note the Priests’ Training Fund remains open until Sunday 22 November – box provided at the back of the Church, plus Gift Aid vouchers, which should be availed of by those who pay tax.
  11. Thank you to all who took part in the Stand against poverty the other Sunday. A record was achieved worldwide with 173 million people registering their support in 130 countries. For more detail, visit www.standagainstpoverty.org.
