Teri Murray was born in Kent, and grew up in Dublin before moving to Limerick where she devotes her time to reading and writing and studying the Tarot. Her work, including poems, short stories and plays, has been widely published in Ireland.

Liam Mulligan has lived in Limerick all his life, but has travelled to most parts of the world. He is now retired, having spent nearly forty years working on Irish railroads.

The title is adapted from two great culinary specialities: Coddle, Dublin’s traditional Saturday Night dish of suasages, bacon, liver, kidney, spuds, herbs, spices, and everything else, all boiled together and best eaten after a liberal intake of that other great Dublin speciality - Guinness. Tripe is a much-loved speciality in Limerick, and is made from... well we won’t tell you - it will only spoil it for you! The title of the book has even managed to cause a little confusion in at least one bookshop. Having been asked for a copy, the proprietor searched in vain through massive shelves packed with Cookery Books before declaring that it couldn’t be found. A telephone enquiry to STONEBRIDGE elicited the information that it was a book of poems - a statement greeted by stunned silence! Well, now they know, and it’s selling like hot cakes!
