'Children arrive happily at the after school club; there is a family atmosphere and this is very evident at tea time. The children are very companionable; they chat about school, their home lives and take a very active role in organising activities. For example, whilst eating their tea they arranged a badminton tournament, the children are very fair and everyone is invited to play from the youngest to the oldest. They are learning how to co-operate with one another and how to take other people's thoughts and feelings into consideration.' Ofsted June 2007
The After School Club
is for children aged 4 to 11 years who attend Sturry CE Primary
School.
We operate from 3.15pm
to 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday during term time and are closed when
the school have their INSET days.
Cost is £5.50 per
session.
Infants are collected
from the top playground and Juniors walk down the path inside the school gate.
There are areas available
for homework but the main emphasis is fun. We
provide games, activities and outside play daily and other organised
activities such as craft projects, cooking and competitions regularly
throughout the term.
Light snacks are included
and these may include toast, fruit, soup, cheese and crackers and
squash, milk or water. Snacks are available at the designated 'tea
time' where we encourage the children to sit together at the table
whilst they eat. Drinks are available freely throughout the session.
There is no waiting list
in operation, places can be booked by term, week or day. We require
that payment is made at the time of booking and an up to date admissions
form is completed. If no payment is received the child will not
be placed on our register and will not be collected from school.
We can be flexible incase of emergency.
