Power Line Protection

  AC powered home and office equipment is at risk from lightning and other transients caused by the switching on and off of motors, domestic appliances, air conditioning and other loads. This can lead to unexplained equipment damage and loss of data stored on computers. The vast majority of this damage can be avoided by using the correct type of surge protection. Our Pro-Series Power Protectors have a multi-stage approach to protection and incorporate some or all of the following:

1. Metal Oxide Varistors to absorb and divert surges away to earth.
2. Heavy-duty Gas Discharge Tubes to relieve the Varistors and protect against dangerous powerful surges.
3. Thermal fuses to protect against overheating.
4. Fuses, to give protection should the GDT operate under particular conditions.
5. RFI in-line filtering to remove noise from the power supply.
6. Indicator lamps to show the unit is operational
