Morpeth Baptist Church
Welcome to Morpeth Baptist Church, Northumberland
We believe that we should be good news in our local community of Morpeth and in the wider world. These are some of the things which MBC supports and in which many members and friends are actively involved.

Mighty Oaks – Saturday Night Coffee Cart

Find us on a Saturday night in Morpeth Market Square giving out free, freshly ground coffee. It’s always been free and it always will be. Come and enjoy a cappuccino or latte and ask us why.

Mighty Oaks exists to serve the community by giving free coffee on a Saturday night in Morpeth to anyone and everyone. There is no hidden agenda or long term business plan; we are quite simply a group of local Christians who wish to demonstrate God’s love through practical service.

We do not charge for any of the drinks that we make - any donations we are offered feed directly into running the service the following week. After 3 years of getting to know the community we are still going strong and we look forward to many more years full of service and good conversation.

International China Concern

We have close links with International China Concern – some of our members work for the charity and many volunteers have visited the orphanages to offer fun, friendship and love. We sponsor a young lady called Dong Xiu and support her through prayer and finance.

Nepal Leprosy Trust

Morpeth Baptist Church has established links with Nepal Leprosy Trust having made a number of visits to see for ourselves the work of caring for those whose lives are affected by the crippling disease. As ever, our members have been welcomed by the staff and patients at the Lalgadh hospital, and also encouraged that for many of these desperate cases there is care and hope by the dedicated nursing staff.

Christian Adventure Holidays

We have close links with Christian Adventure Holidays. Over the years the MBC congregation has provided many young "adventurers" several of whom have gone on to become dedicated "leaders" giving their time and resources to continue this fantastic Christian work for young people from across the UK.

Christian Adventure Holidays provide affordable summer activity weeks for young people, aged 12 to 17, at Bassenfell Manor, situated in the Lake District. The focus of these weeks is to encourage Fun, Friendships and Faith. The volunteer leaders are professionally qualified in specific outdoor activities and have an enthusiastic passion for Jesus Christ. They take place during the school summer holiday and applications are being accepted now. Application forms and further information can be found at

Some action from 2014:-

Here is a very good video skillfully and patiently made by one of the adventurers this year. The incidental music, is the wonderful worship song used extensively on  camp week 3 called "My Lighthouse" by "Rend Collective"
