The Italian Association "Nima" presents: Il Filo e le Ombre. Thu July 17th - Sat July 19th

Il Filo e le Ombre

Il Filo e le Ombre

by Alexandra Zambà

The Italian Association “NIMA”, presents IL FILO E LE OMBRE (The Wire and the Shadows). The play was premiered in November 2007 in the theatre Tordinona (Rome - Italy). The play tells the tales of Caterina Cornaro Queen of Cyprus's exalting story. This innovative production features the Theatre of Shadows 'Karagiozis' (from Cyprus), Arlecchino (Venetian Mask), actors from Rome and Venice, romani with both a classic and a modern artistic background. Music is inspired by the Italian Barocco, the Salentin Greek and by Cyprot folk music.

The play is performed in modern Italian and Venetian dialets, with English language title projections onto a big screen through the performance to enable non-Italian speakers to follow the dialogue.

Everything is entwined and mirrored in a sparkling and dragging composition.
